What if an environmental anomaly could trigger more than a reading on a meter, a beep or a light? What if it could produce a targeted musical response that opens up a new avenue of investigation?

Based on a Singapore experiment I’ve been conducting for years, the PolySonix monitors five environmental anomaly types. When an anomaly is detected, the device responds by selecting a random piece of music from a playlist associated with that anomaly.

The music spans 2,000 years of human history, divided into five categories:

Classical - Cold Spot
Folk - Hot Spot
Religious - Magnetic South spike
Military - Magnetic North spike
Popular - Air Pressure fluctuation

Every track begins by announcing the century from which the selected piece originates, followed by 15 seconds of playback.

If another relevant trigger occurs while the music is playing, PolySonix continues playing the track. If no further trigger occurs, the music pauses. A subsequent trigger within the next 15 seconds will resume the piece; otherwise, the session ends and the device waits for the next anomaly.

This creates a simple but potentially fascinating investigative question:

Is there a pattern in the music that appears to receive responses?

Over multiple sessions, investigators can record which anomaly types produce responses, which musical periods are selected, which genres appear most frequently, and whether particular locations seem to produce recurring patterns.

PolySonix is also deliberately flexible. Rather than forcing every investigator to use the same experiment, you can tailor your playlists and sessions to the location you're investigating, creating experiments that are specific to the history, environment or investigative theory surrounding a site. This can be done by adding your own MP3 tracks to the SD card, the instructions on how to do that are on the supplied card.

For paranormal investigators who want to move beyond simple Singapore experiments, PolySonix offers a different approach: detect an anomaly, introduce a controlled stimulus, and see what happens next.
